Climate Literacy Resolution
On November 3, 2021 the Berkeley Unified School District Board of Education unanimously passed the Climate Literacy Resolution, which commits to graduating students who are well versed in climate change science, issues, & solutions and environmental justice as a civil rights issue. The 2nd annual smÂÛ̳ Climate Fair is a celebration of student learning around Climate Literacy. This year’s fair will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 10am-2pm in the Longfellow Middle School cafeteria. The Climate Fair is a non-competitive showcase of middle school and upper elementary projects that explore the themes of climate change science, solutions and climate justice, the core pieces of smÂÛ̳’s Climate Literacy Resolution, passed in November 2021. This free event is open to the smÂÛ̳ community. Come on by to celebrate Earth Day and smÂÛ̳’s Climate Literacy program. In addition to the project showcase, the event will include hands-on activities for all ages, bike repair, music, food and prizes! We hope to see you there.
